Hickory Tussock Moth, Lophocampa Caryae

The Lara, Catapillar, is covered with long, hairlike, setae. This larva is mostly white with black spots on its back. These hairs have chemicals which can cause itchy rashes to some people. As adult malls they fly in May and June. Their wings are yellowish-brown marked with white patches. The body is Harry and pale brown. This moth feeds on Hickory, Pecan, and Willow. It can also feed on other plants.
