Conclusion

One of the main messages from lord of the flies was that evil is inherent and that evil is innate to us. The boys represent what can happen when evil does entirely corrupt ones actions and thoughts as seen though jack. Jack's progression as a character can be seen as the evil innately in him consuming him slowly. Modern day evil includes domestic violence, massacres of innocents and inhumane treatment of people. One viewpoint to understand is that there is no good without evil.
