Who was Dr. Howard Florey?

It took a few more weeks to grow enough penicillin mold to confirm Fleming's findings. Dr. Fleming didn't have the resources or a background in chemistry to continue the work with penicillin. Dr. Howard Florey began working with penicillin in 1938, he had always been interested in how mold kills bacteria.
