Foiling Density and Affect

Weaving Effects: creates a more natural effect

Fine effect is with 10-12 weaves per subsection

Medium effect is with 6-8 weaves per subsection

Strong effect is with 2-3 weaves per subsection

Density is the number of foils in each section and determines the desired outcome.

Light Density: 30% or less of in each section is highlighted. Partings are 1/2" apart.

Medium Density: 50% of hair in each section is highlighted. Partings are 1/4-1/2" apart.

Heavy Density: 70% of hair in each section is highlighted. Partings are 1/8-1/4" apart.

Slicing creates a bolder effect than weaving

Fine effect is by taking a fine slice from subsection to be foiled.

Medium effect is by taking 2 back to back slices in a row before leaving hair out between foils.

Strong effect is by taking 3 back to back slices in a row before leaving hair out between foils.
