Blitzkrieg in Poland
Blitzkrieg means "lightening war". On September 1, 1939, Germany attacked Poland. The armored division smashed through Polish lines and isolated them. Panzer tanks then rushed to repeat the movement. During this, the Luftwaffe destroyed air capability and bombed cities. Bad strategy on Poland's part, they rushed to the front, was their ruin. On September 28th, they surrendered. ( UShmm.org)
