Warrior class of the Mexica society

- looked at all of the males as potential warriors and ever since birth can distinguish themselves

- military elite came from the Mexica aristocracy

- men from the noble class received more importance on the battlefield as well as getting the best opportunities on the battlefield

- with the most successful warriors they formed a very important council where the members would elect the ruler and other important government positions

- received a lot of land grants, tribute and also the most luxurious items that came into the society either by trade or tribute
