Core

The outer core is a liquid it is made up of iron and nickel. The depth is 2,200-2,890km. The temperature there is 4,000-5,000 Celsius.

The inner Core is solid. It is mostly made up of iron but it does of a little amount of nickel. The temperature ranges between 5,000-7,000 Celsius. The depth is about 1,300km.

The reason why iron and nickel make up the core is because they are the heaviest metals and sank to the core of the earth. Did you know that the inner core spins at a different time than the rest of the earth creating earths's magnetic field.
