4. Blow Dry 1/2 Round Brush Technique


remove wave/curl=achieve smooth finish (medium volume+lift)


~pre dry hair, starting in first position, remove moisture with towel

~apply prep product hair

~remove nozzle on blowdryer

~(use half round brush for medium length hair)

~brush all hair in one direction, following brush with dryer's airflow

~switch dryer and brush hands

brush and dry hair in opposite direction (airflow following brush)

~brush hair into natural fall, airflow following brush

DO NOT COMPLETELY DRY HAIR (stop when it's 70% dry)

~apply style product to damp hair

brush through to ensure product is distributed


CREATING SECTIONS-

(6 sections total)

~stand in first position behind (legs should width apart)

~make center part from front hairline to crown (upper back of skull)

~continue vertical section from crown to nape (where head meets neck)

~make horizontal sections from crown to front hairline

sections following parietal ridge (where top of head curves to form sides)

~make horizontal sections from occipital bone to behind the ear (both sides)

CREATING BEVELING-

(STRAIGHT FROM SCALP, CURLED AT MID LENGTHS-ENDS)

scalp- pins against scalp, rotate brush so pins are facing you

midlengths- pins up, elevate to 45 degrees

ends- lower elevation to 0 degrees, rotate brush through hair in circular motion

DRYING BACK AND SIDES-

~brush hair side to side, follow brush with airflow

~brush to natural fall, follow with airflow

~lock roots by placing pins parallel to part, rotate 90 degrees (gathering hair in brush)

~pull brush through midlengths, airflow following brush

~elevate to 45 degrees to dry midlengths

~reducing elevation to 0 degrees towards ends

~drop ends before drying (create bevel)

DRYING THE TOP-

~unclip hair, first pos. facing side of head

~brush hair in different directions, airflow following brush (reduce excess moisture)

~lock roots in small section (pins up) next to scalp

~place pins under midlengths with pins up (hair on pad of brush)

~elevate hair to 45 degrees for drying midlength

~lowering hair to 0 degrees at ends (creating bevel)

FINISHING HAIR-

~apply finishing product (smooth through hair)

~comb hair to natural fall
