battle of bunker hill

This battle was a tactical victory for the Redcoats, but it showed how hard the war could actually be. British troops had more casualties then the Patriots. It showed that the Patriots had an inexperienced militia, but they could stand up for themselves against a regular sized British army. The battle discovered that they needed more cautious planning before other battles.

The British won this battle. It was fought on June 17, 1775.
