Disco

1

Disco contains elements of pop, soul, salsa, and psychedelic music. It took elements from these styles to make dance music.

Disco started just after world war 2 but became very popular in the early 1970’s to replace rock and roll as the main music.

Disco music is best known for getting people up to dance. The way the music repeats itself made it easy for people to create many new dance moves and even easier to dance to!

The name disco originally comes from night clubs in France. It is a place that played music without live bands.

John Travolta stared in a famous Disco movie in 1977 that focused on the disco culture and music. “Saturday Night Fever”
