1980’s music was all about style and image with the introduction of MTV. “Video Killed The Radio Star” was the first song ever played on MTV.

New Wave slowly moved itself through the 80’s into hair metal bands and grunge.

Famous New Wave Bands: Blondie, The Talking Heads, The Cure, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Adam and The Ants.

New Wave did not have a set of songwriting rules to follow like many of the other styles. It allowed different bands to experiment with their own well polished pop sounds.
