What is power?
"Power, in science and engineering, time rate of doing work or delivering energy, expressible as the amount of work done W, or energy transferred, divided by the time interval t—or W/t." - Britannica.com
Work, as we all know it, is done by forces acting upon them which cause objects to move. Well with forces making work happen, they have to a rate or speed its traveling. That's where power comes into play.
Power is the rate at which work is done with both work and time involved. Since work has it own formula apart, you would have to solve power in two steps. First solve the work then divide it all by time and as a resultant you get power.
Think of you pushing a box up a hill of grass. You use the force of the your strength and make the box move to a distance within a time period. The time it took, the force you used, and the distance it traveled makes power altogether!
