One of Rome's most widespread and most lasting contribution was it's law.

- They wanted to strengthen the rights of Roman Citizens.

- They wanted laws to be equal and that laws should be fair to everyone.

The Principles of Roman Law spread to different lands and countries to form a basis of laws there to like in European countries and places that were influenced by European countries like The United States of America.

The Roman's principles of Law

• All people have the right to equal treatment under the law.

• A person is considered innocent until proven guilty.

• The burden of proof rested with the accuser rather than the accused.

• A person should only be punished for actions and not thoughts.

• Any law that seemed unreasonable or grossly unfair could be set aside.
