Biography
He was born on February 25 1746 in Charleston South Carolina. He had a wife Sara Middleton and one son and three daughters. 7 years later he joined his father who was colonial agent for South Carolina. He went to school in London and attended several schools. He graduated in 1746. He went on to study law and passed the bar 1769. He joined the military the same year he went full time in 1775 when South Carolina organized its forces and he became captin. In 1780 he was taken as prisoner and released 2 years later. He was discharged as a general in the end. He went back to his legal practices. He became a federalist when he went home. He later became a leader in constitutional convention. He died in Charleston in 1825 at the age of 79
