The Transatlantic Railroad
Who, What, Where?
-Union Pacific and Central Pacific were the two railroads that raced to build a railroad across the continent.
-The railroad would cross the country and connect with already existing railroads. It was not to complicated since most of the railroads were owned by a few companies.
-Central Pacific began building east out of Sacremento and by the end of the year Union started building west out of Omaha, Nebraska.
