David Parker Ray was born November 6,1939. He lived with his grandfather. He often saw his father, who was physically abusive. Ray also wasbullied by peers due to his shyness around girls. He had a young sister but the two were split up after the death of his grandmother. He served in the U.S. Army and later became a mechanic. He also married four times, each ending in divorce. He had 2 daughters, one of them, he lived with for sometime. There is no known date at which he started abducting girls. Exactly how many victims he raped, tortured, and sometimes killed is unknown. He speaks in his tape that he started as a teenager in the 1950's, but that was never confirmed. Rays rough start in life continued to progress into adulthood.
