Africans

African American men were scattered among the militia of the Americans. They were slaves with courage, loyalty, and talent.

Blacks served as craftsmen and laborers. Some were guides, musicians, servants, and even spies to the white officers.

Some African Americans served in all black Units that had a white leader.

The Africans Americans wanted to serve the side that would, again as the Native Americans, give them a better life. British however were not so keen of giving them weapons.
