The Angel of Death is born

After being transferred to Auschwitz, Mengele would now be responsible for Birkenau's "Gypsy Camp". After the liquidation, Mengele took on new positions and began to do be the known as the "Angel of Death". Mengele would select what Jews live or die, based off of their health, skill, or he was interested in them for experiments, etc. His experiments were mainly on twins, but he also did experiments on dwarfs, hunchbacks, and other deformities. It is speculated that Mengele had done experiments on roughly 3,000 sets of twins. Mengele had been especially interested in eyes. Mengele would inject chemicals into victims in an attempt to change their eye color. Most of his experiments were a disaster, that had no benefit to the medical field whatsoever.
