The Mouth

The mouth is where your digestion begins. As you chew your food your tongue moves food around and mixes it with saliva. Saliva is created by 3 sets of glands in your mouth and it contains enzymes and mucus that help breakdown your food into sugar that it can use. After your food mixes with your saliva, it is moved to the back of your mouth and swallowed.
