Setting

Most of this story takes place during the Great Depression on a ranch a few miles south of Soledad, California. Around the ranch is a massive amount of lame with rivers and brush. In the beginning of the story George and Lenny made came in a place like this. That place later turned out to be a very important place of the story. The setting is important because it sets the tone. It also leads into many main parts of the story.
