Romeo takes love as something that is fate, you can not stop it and it comes from within. An example of this is when him and Mercurtio talk and Romeo says "s love a tender thing? It is too rough, too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn." This shows Romeo has thought deeper about love.

Mercurtio is a jokester, he also thinks love is a physical thing. No one can just start to 'love' someone out of no where. After Romeo says his line mercutio says "If love be rough with you, be rough with love. Prick love for pricking and you beat love down." Him saying that shows he has not been in love, that you can just 'beat' it down.
