Zealous Pioneers is another way of saying “Determined Pioneers.” These Pioneers are Zealous because they were determined to go west to get new land, gold, and other things. Imagine, being on the Oregon Trail, with little food, water, and equipment. Would you give up and go back home to your house, do you think the Pioneers quit? NO! They did not quit. The kept on going along to get that land! Another example for when they didn’t quit is when they went to get gold from the Gold Rush. But, we’ll talk about that later. (If the Pioneers weren’t Zealous the USA wouldn’t have so many states for one thing!)
