Gold Rush Pioneers

People just didn’t go West for land, the went for other things to. Things like, riches and freedom. This particular case the thing that made people go West was gold. It was announced in 1948 that gold was found in California. Everyone then thought that there would be more gold waiting for them there. So, that was the beginning of the the Gold Rush. The Pioneers had to be very Zealous just like on the Oregon Trail. The ways to get to California was Perilous and Treacherous just like the Oregon Trail. There was three routes to get there. The California Trail which goes through New Mexico and Arizona. The Central Overland Trail which follows the Pony Express route through Salt Lake City and Nevada. Finally, the final route is the Butterfly Overland Mail route which went through Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. All ways were very hard, dangerous, and risky! The same dangers from the Oregon Trail applied here! (But, because the Pioneers went here too California became a state!)
