Oregon Trail Pioneers
On the Oregon Trail, Pioneers had to be really Zealous. You know why. The reason is, the Oregon Trail is very hard, risky, and dangerous. It started in Missouri, and ended in Oregon. It was 2000 miles long of a trail. Also, it took four two six months to get to Oregon. You could lose absolutely everything you had on the Oregon Trail. Let’s start back at the beginning. So, what happened is that people found out that they could get land in Oregon for free. The first people to get there got some (Manifest Destiny.) So, people of all different families packed up and went forth to go to Oregon. That’s how the Oregon Trail started. So, after the free land caught people’s attention, people started leaving for the land in boatloads! But, like I said earlier, the Oregon Trail was a very perilous and treacherous journey. At least 10% of people that traveled the trail died trying to get to Oregon. It was horrible! Want to know some things that people died from? Well, I’ll tell you. Let me list some, gun accident, falling under wheels, Native American attacks, crossing rivers, animals, diseases, mountains, valleys, poisoned food, running out of food or water, bandits, and A LOT MORE! Even if they did make it to Oregon, they weren’t guaranteed land, and, the would most likely die in Oregon. So, they could have made that Perilous and Treacherous journey for absolutely nothing! (But, because the Pioneers went to Oregon it became a state!)
