Summer and Winter

Watch this video to learn what causes the seasons winter and summer, and clear up some misconceptions!

DAY LENGTH IN WINTER IN SUMMER

Now that you know we get more direct sunlight in summer and winter, you can probably guess the reason why we have longer days in summer and shorter days in winter. Yes, that's because we are getting more sun rays in summer due to our tilt and greater solar angle, so we have more daylight hours. In winter we are getting less direct sun rays, a lesser solar angle, and therefore fewer daylight hours.
