Earth's Axis

Earth doesn't get all our different seasons by just moving around the Sun. Earth rotates on an imaginary line called an axis. This line plays an important role in the seasons and how they happen! Earth's axis is titled at a 23.5° angle, not a straight line, like some may think. As we revolve around the Sun, our axis stays in place. It always points to a star called the North Star.

A diagram of Earth and its axis.
