Principles of Effective Communication

#1. Being a good listener is one of the most important parts of communication. By being a good listener, you understand what the speaker is saying and how they feel about what they are saying. By listening, you also show you care about what the speaker is saying. One day,in the behavior class I am observing in, I noticed one of the students who was supposed to be reading wasn't, so I asked him why. Turns out, he needed someone to talk to about some personal issues. I listened to him, and was flabbergasted that he would trust me, but he did. Afterwards, he stayed on task.
