Principles of Communication

Nonverbal communication can vary between different cultures. For instance, it might be completely wrong for a child to talk to an adult without being spoken to first in his or her home culture. However, in our culture, this could be taken as being rude, extremely shy, or a completely different other form of miscommunication. We need to learn about the cultures of all of our students.
