Clinical Vignette

History of Presenting Complaint

- admitted 19 Aug 2014 

- generalized tonic-clonic seizure at 10pm 

- jerking of all 4 limbs, foaming at the mouth- 20 minutes, self-aborted, drowsy post-ictally

- witnessed by daughter 

- second episode on arrival at ED x 2 minutes

- aborted with IV diazepam 

- no antecedent fever or other infective symptoms

- no fall or other head injury

- first episode of seizure

- no family history of epilepsy
