Buddhism has many similar beliefs to Hinduism. Originally founded in India, it made its way across Asia and into Korea and China.

Buddhism

📍Its founder is Siddartha Gautama.
📍This religion came from Hinduism.
Some Buddhist beliefs are very similar to Hindu beliefs.
📍Believe in a peaceful life.
📍The Three Baskets of Wisdom is the holy text.
📍Worship in shrines, or stupas.
📍Two major sects:
- Therevada: believe that Buddha is not a god, but rather a spiritual guid.
- Manayana: believe that Buddha is a god.
📍The symbol of Buddhism is the wheel because it represents the teachings of Buddha and an endless cycle of rebirth. Its spokes symbolize the Eightfold Path set out by the Buddha.
📍Buddhists believe in meditation.
📍They reject the ideas of priests, formal rituals, or existence of gods.
📍They set up convents and monasteries.
📍Like Hindus, they don't eat beef.
