They appeared in 1000 BC.Forests covered land so they cleared out wooded area for farmland. They grew maize and other crops. Forests made farming hard but they provided plenty of resources. Deer and monkey were a source of food. Trees and plants were building materials. They also used mud to make houses. They lived in small villages that started to trade with each other. They traded cloth and obsidian. Traded helped villages grow
