Warfare

Conflicts between the cities started happening. They fought each other to gain power or land. The city of Tikal and Calakmul fought for years to control a smaller city that lay between them. Maya warfare was bloody. They fought with spears, flint knives, and wooden clubs. They captured prisoners and kill them in a ceremony. Towns and villages are burned and crops are destroyed.
