CLERGY/PRIESTS

Deacons, priests and bishops are ordained during the Divine Liturgy by the laying on of hands by the bishop. The Eastern church allows married men to be ordained as priests, however priests and deacons cannot be married after their ordination, as this is an ancient rule. Monks or unmarried clergy are usually chosen as Bishops.
