Culture in Laos

In Laos, women are generally in lower or lighter duty jobs and don't always have equal opportunities. On the other hand, males have more pressure to perform and are generally the breadwinners.

Buddhism is the national religion in Laos with 90 percent of the people being Buddhists.

Higher classes usually are able to afford better education and have better jobs. However, the lower class has a lower education and therefore have lower skilled jobs.

There are about 68 different ethnic and cultural groups with little racial tension.
