Lawrence Sullivan Ross

He was a sheriff and a Texas ranger. He was a sheriff (1873), and he also was a major in the confederate army (around 1861), president of Texas a&m university (1891-1898), and the commander of the Texas division (1893). He was brave, because he was a soldier and it led him into politics. He was also honest, and he was known for that. He made Texas A&M grow.
