Korean War
The United States supported South Korea, and the Soviets supported North Korea.
The War started when the north decided to invade the south. This led to the U.S. intervening. The Americans were able to push the North Koreans back to the 38th, but the decided to keep advancing. This led to the Chinese joining the war.
The Korean War was between North Korea and South Korea. After WW II, the U.S. and the Soviet Union both divided Korea along the 38 degree latitude line. The South was anti-communist while the North was communist.
The war lasted three years, with a lot of deaths. The war ended any chance of the north and south uniting into one Korea.
