Technology

The Babylonians inherited the technological advancements of the Sumerians in irrigation for agriculture. The Babylonians/Sumerians created the irrigation system which really helped farmers. The Babylonians gave an automated water system to the world. The development of the irrigation system was important because it allowed farmers that did not live near bodies of water to be able to grow their crops. The effect that it had on societies in Babylon was that the irrigation system let farmers that did not live near water, grow and water their crops, so they could be sold. Also, the irrigation system made the land fertile. The irrigation system was developed around 1760 B.C. If the Babylonians did not created the irrigation system, then we don't know of anyone would have created it throughout history.
