Time Period
The Babylonians existed from 1900- 1100 BCE. They lived in Mesopotamia. They existed during this time period because before the existence of Babylonians, Empire of the Third Dynasty of Ur ruled the city-states between the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers. The Babylonians existed from 1900- 1100 BCE because after they existed, Persian king, Cyrus the Great, ruled the city. In the late 3rd millenium BC: Babylon existed as a city. 1792- 1750 B.C.:Collapse of Shamshi-Adad's kingdom after his death. Hammurabi takes all of southern Mesopotamia into the Babylon kingdom. 1749 - 1712 B.C.: Hammurabi’s son, Samsuiluna, rules Babylon. Mid-15th Century B.C.: the non-Mesopotamian Kassites take power in Babylonia.
