Martin Luther
Martin Luther had rebelled against the church on October 31, 1517. He had nailed 95 complaints, called the 95 thesis, on the door of a church. The 95 thesis tested the popes authority. They also outline Luther's own beliefs. This was a sign to the pope that Luther didn't want to be a Christian, so he excommunicated him.
