Scholars spread North because they were interested in history. The problem with that was that they weren't aloud to believe everything inn history that they wanted to. They decided that they would have to focus only on the Christian history. Those scholars came up with the idea of a new "version" of Christianity. This was called Christian humanism, or the combination of Christianity and humanism.
Christian humanism was similar to Christianity, but its culture was different. Literature now criticized corrubt clergy and instead of including rituals, he only emphasized on God and the teachings of Jesus. Art was also changed. Paintings now looked more realistic with physical flaws.
