Homily and the Prayers of the Faithful

Homily- this is the time when the priest explains the Gospel Reading and applies its message to everyday life.

Prayers of the Faithful- the time when intentions are read. There is usually three: one praying for the Pope and bishops, one praying for a current event, and one praying for the sick and recently dead in the community.
