Introductory Rites

The Introductory Rites start when the priest first approaches the altar with the altar servers. Once they arrive at the altar, they all bow in respect. Once the entrance chant is finished, the priest and the congregation make the sign of the cross. This is followed by the Penitential Act.


Then comes the "Kyrie Eleison" or:
Priest- "Lord have mercy"
All- "Lord have mercy"
Priest- "Christ have mercy"
All- "Christ have mercy"
Priest- "Lord have mercy"
