Most amusement on the frontier was found doing daily activities. Hunting, fishing, and horse racing were some of the popular pastimes. Families in isolated areas gathered together for hoedowns on Saturday nights. Those of the Hispanic culture had fun doing fiesta activities. Many religious celebrations brought people together as well as elections.
