South Padre Island

South Padre Island beach is a particularly relatable zone. The biodiversity here is much less than most other intertidal zones due to human interaction and low nutrients from sand. Some cool species around here include jelly fish, snails, seaweed, crabs, turtles.

The modern pollution of the costal zone isa particularly nasty abiotic factor that is affecting the ecosystem of this biome. This trash can cause suffocation and can kill living areas. Turtles are affected by this pollution because they eat jelly fish, and bags look an awful lot like a jelly fish. Pick up your trash, save a turtle.
