Biodiversity Abundance

Intertidal zones are interesting for having different zones that make up the biome. It is made up of three different zones that have their unique ecosystems.

Supra Littoral Zone: this is the highest part of the coast. The population here is sparse due to the low level of oxygen and nutrients. This area contains snails, black lichens, limpets, and algae.

Mid Littoral Zone: this area has increased time in the water, therefore the diversity here is higher. The organisms mentioned above are accompanied by mussels, which dominate the area, and their predator seastar.

Low Littoral Zone: the most diverse zone. There's more diversity and population down here due to high nutrients. Plankton, algae, anemones, crabs, worms, sponges!

The zones of this particular biome make it interesting and diverse. The diversity is very high.
