Geographic Location

As previously stated, the coastlines dictate where intertidal zones exist. For this reason, an accurate latitude or general area of where these biomes are located varies greatly (sorry Mrs. V). Most all coast lines are intertidal zones. This does not include lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. because these are fresh water and do not have the change of tides--a key trait of intertidal zones.
