Causes of World War 1

1. The assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand, in Serbia, of Austria-Hungary on June 28th, 1914 caused a domino effect which lead up to World War 1. Serbia did not comply to Austria-Hungary's demands. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.

2. The Alliance system pulled Russia because the were loyal to Serbia. Russia pulled France into the War. When Germany invaded Belgium, in order to get to France, that pulled Britain into the war. Other nations entered the war later on.
