~It was the result of other tribes mixing with the Aryans.
~The Maurya Empire originally took power in the Ganges River Valley, and later moved on to conquer the majority of northern India and the Deccan Plateau.
~The capital of the empire is Pataliputra.
~Later on, Chandragupta died and his grandson, Asoka, came to power.
~The empire declined when Asoka died.
