This is the same process that you probably went through last year.  All the teachers that are tenured will receive one formal announced observation with the possibilities of an unannounced observation, as well as multiple walk throughs.

The announced observation is your time to shine.  This is why I allow you to pick which lesson you would like me to observe within about a two week  window that I specify.  I would like for the observations to last 45 minutes, I know that this might be several lessons for the primary teachers, especially kindergarten I just ask that you supply me with the proper lessons plans for what I will be observing.

In my experience this has been a very rewarding experience for both the teachers and the administrator, it is a chance for the teacher to show as well as explain what they are doing in their classrooms, and its a way for the administrator to get questions that he or she might have answered before doing the actual evaluation.

TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS

By Matt Siembida

An overview of how the formal observation and differentiated supervisions models will be done at FASD during the 2014-2015 school year. This also lists which teachers will be formally observed or which will use the differentiated model.
