Catholic Reformation
The Catholic Reformation is the effort to reform the Catholic Church from within. Catholic Reformation leaders worked to strengthen the Catholic Church and stop the spread of Protestantism. Many of the Catholic Reformation's leaders came from Southern Europe. Rulers, nobles, and clergy defended the Catholic Church. Christians, Jews, and Muslims worked together. Since they cooperated, people of all three religions prospered.They made some advancements. The Inquisition began to turn its attention to Christians, Muslims, and Jews. They were punished so the Reformation wasn't strong in Spain
